Women in Need Kauai (WIN)

Expressing gratitude is one way to boost your mental health and decrease stress this time of year. Giving back and supporting our community is another. 

Women in Need (WIN) Kauai is a non-profit organization empowering women and changing lives on the Garden Island. I am grateful for their services and encourage you to learn more about the organization and support their efforts this holiday season. WIN supports women and individuals who have experienced domestic violence, homelessness, substance abuse, and incarceration. We asked Director, Kimmy Cummings a few questions about WIN and how we can support their efforts on Kauai. 

What is Women in Need Kauai (WIN)?

Women In Need (WIN) is a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization that empowers individuals who have been through domestic violence, homelessness, substance abuse, and incarceration.

WIN is committed to guiding women and teens towards sobriety, self-esteem and responsibility through our warm, nurturing and holistic approach.

We help our clients develop positive life skills they need to become independent and productive members of our community. We do everything we can to break the generational cycle of hopelessness and abuse.

What services does WIN provide?

WIN Provides a wide range of services on Kauai, including:
  • Bridge to Success Transitional Housing (Gender Specific to Women and their Children)
  • Community Resource Referrals
  • Substance Abuse Relapse Prevention
  • Intensive Outpatient Substance Abuse Treatment
  • Re-Entry from Incarceration
  • Domestic Violence Education
  • Employment Services
  • Case Management
  • Advocacy

What can the Kauai community do to support WIN?

Women In Need can always use monetary as well as donations of the following:

  • Feminine Hygiene Products (sanitary napkins, tampons etc.)
  • Self Care Products for women
  • Children’s Educational Toys
  • Cleaning Products
  • Laundry Products (laundry detergent, downy, etc.)
