Collagen Induction Facial
Collagen induction treatment, also known as microneedling, is a non-invasive cosmetic procedure that uses tiny needles to create controlled micro-injuries in the skin. This triggers the body’s natural healing process, stimulating the production of collagen and elastin.
Collagen is an essential protein that provides structure and elasticity to our skin, hair, nails, and connective tissues. As we age, our bodies naturally produce less collagen, leading to wrinkles, fine lines, and sagging skin.
What to expect
Pre-treatment
Preparing for a collagen induction treatment is easy. We recommend that you avoid direct sun exposure for at least a week before your procedure. You cannot be treated with a sunburn. You may also be asked to temporarily pause using skin care with retinol and acids.
During treatment
During the treatment, patients may experience a mild discomfort or tingling sensation, but it is generally well-tolerated. A topical numbing cream may be applied to the treatment area to minimize any discomfort. After the treatment, patients may experience mild redness or swelling, but this typically resolves within a few days.
post-treatment
Temporary redness and swelling may occur, typically resolving within a few days. Flaking may occur around day five. Wait 24 hours before applying makeup.
